
Minnesota Wild Recalls Johan Larsson from the Houston Aeros

Houston, TX - The Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Tuesday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Johan Larsson from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL) under emergency conditions.
Larsson, 20 (6/25/92), has collected 37 points (15-2237) including six power-play goals and 38 penalty minutes (PIM) in 62 games with Houston this season. He ranks first on the Aeros in games played and third in scoring, goals and power-play tallies. The 6-foot, 198-pound native of Lau, Sweden, made his NHL debut against Detroit on Feb. 17 and recorded two shots in 14:02 of ice time.
Larsson notched 36 points (12-2436) and 34 PIM in 49 games with Brynas IF Gavle in Sweden's Elite League last season. He added nine points (2-79) in 16 playoff games to help lead Brynas to the playoff championship. Larsson captained Sweden's gold medal team at the 2012 World Junior Championship and tallied six assists in six games. He also skated in seven games for Sweden at the World Championship and recorded two assists.
Larsson was selected by Minnesota in the second round (No. 56 overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He wears sweater No. 47 with the Wild.
Houston continues a ten-game home stand at Toyota Center on Thursday with San Antonio at 7:05 p.m. The game marks a "Thirsty Thursday", where fans (21 and older) receive a "second drink free coupon" for The Maple Leaf Pub (Smith and Elgin). The first 500 fans to The Maple Leaf Pub after the game will be able to redeem their coupon for their second drink free. Friday night, the Aeros welcome the Chicago Wolves at 7:05 p.m. The game is presented by Houston Eye Associates. The first 3,500 patrons will be given an Aeros magnetic picture frame, compliments of Houston Eye Associates.
