Canadiens Assign Nathan Beaulieu to Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QUE - Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the Canadiens have assigned defenceman Nathan Beaulieu to the Bulldogs.

Beaulieu, 20, played two games for the Canadiens since being recalled on March 29th posting one assist and two penalty minutes. Beaulieu has played 62 games for the Bulldogs this season recording 25 points (6 goals, 19 assists) and 56 penalty minutes and leads the team in assists. The native of Strathroy, Ontario played four seasons for the Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League registering 152 points (37 goals, 115 assists), a +124 rating and 206 penalty minutes in 233 regular season games. The 6'2", 194-pound defenceman played 61 post-season games over four seasons for the Sea Dogs notching 48 points (12 goals, 36 assists), a +35 rating and 82 penalty minutes while helping Saint John capture the 2011 Memorial Cup. Beaulieu was originally selected by the Canadiens in the first round, 17th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

The Bulldogs' next game is against the Barons in Oklahoma City tonight at 8:00 p.m. All 'Dogs games will be broadcast on Hamilton's Funny 820 (AM 820).
