Admirals Learn Tough Lesson From Wolves
January 13, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Rosemont, IL-Things started badly for the Admirals and never got any better as the team suffered a 7-2 loss to the Chicago Wolves at the All-State Arena in Wednesday's School Day game.
The Admirals gave up three goals in the first period and then allowed four in the second frame in the loss. The lone bright spot for the team was a pair of power-play goals by forward Hugh Jessiman, his seventh and eighth of the year.
Tim Stapleton gave the Wolves a 1-0 lead at the 9:57 mark of the first when he got behind the Admirals defense and roofed a breakaway over Mark Dekanich's shoulder. Joey Crabb and Nathan Oystrick assisted on the play.
Just 67 seconds later it would be 3-0 Chicago as the Wolves picked up goals from Chris Chelios at 10:50 and Riley Holzapfel notched his fourth of the year at 11:03. Dekanich was then lifted and replaced with Chet Pickard.
The Ads made it 3-1 just five seconds into the first power-play of the game when Jon Blum fired a shot that was deflected by Jessiman and landed behind Wolves goalie Peter Maninno.
But the Admirals couldn't sustain any momentum, as the Wolves scored the next four goals to go up 7-1 before Jessiman got his second of the game 14:43 of the second. Mike Santorelli fired a shot that was stopped by Maninno, but Jessiman found the puck in the scrum and was able to push it into the net.
The Admirals continue on their current four-game road trip on Friday night in Winnipeg to battle the Moose. The Ads return home on Friday, January 22 at 7:00 pm against the Wolves at the Bradley Center. Fans can order tickets in person at the Admirals office, the Bradley Center Box Office, by phone at (414) 227-0550, or online at www.ticketmaster.com In addition the Admirals will be open until 8:00 pm Friday night to accommodate any game six ticket needs.
