Moose Release Sharrow From PTO

The Manitoba Moose today announced they have released defenceman Jimmy Sharrow from his professional tryout contract.

Sharrow, 24, appeared in one game with the Moose since his recall on Jan. 8/10. Before being recalled, Sharrow played in 25 games with the Victoria Salmon Kings this season where he has accumulated 21 points (7g & 14a) and 12 penalty minutes. He started the season with the Wheeling Nailers were he appeared in four games and compiled two points (1g & 1a).

The 6'2, 198-pound defenceman has now appeared in 62 career games with the Moose over two seasons. In that span, the Framingham, MA native has scored 28 points (6g & 22a) and 30 penalty minutes. He was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks last season on Dec. 9/08 in exchange for a conditional draft pick.

Sharrow was originally drafted by Atlanta in the fourth round, 110th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
