Admirals Bust Down Rivermen 7-3

The Milwaukee Admirals strung together a stretch of six straight goals on Saturday night en route to a 7-3 win over the Peoria Rivermen at Carver Arena.

Martin Kariya opened the scoring in the game with a power play goal from Jeff Woywitka and Charles Linglet at 10:30, but the Admirals would respond with six consecutive goals to blow the game open.

Starting with Antti Pihlstrom's first of two on the night at 13:31 of the first period, the Admirals took control of the game including four goals in the second period and ended with Janne Niskala's third period power play goal to make it 6-1 just 4:39 into the final frame.

The Rivermen did get a pair of goals late, including Cam Keith's first of the year from the side of the net at 14:35 and Alexander Hellstrom's third of the season with just under 33 seconds remaining.

Chris Beckford-Tseu started the game and allowed three goals on 11 shots in 23:47. Marek Schwarz replaced him and allowed four goals on 15 shots in 36:13. Pekka Rinne earned his 23rd win of the year with 28 saves.

Peoria's next game will be on a Nesquik 2-for-Tuesday as the Rivermen host the Manitoba Moose at 7 pm.
