Adams, Suns Walk off Braves 7-6

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., - The Jacksonville Suns (26-40, 55-80) dropped the Mississippi Braves (35-30, 68-65) 7-6 in 10 innings courtesy of a David Adams three-run walk off home run Thursday night from Bragan Field
Suns bullpen arm Fabian Williamson (W, 2-0) earned the win after two-thirds of an inning that he tossed in scoreless. Braves reliever Jorge Reyes (L, 6-8) (BS, 1) took the loss after allowing the walk off the three-run home run in the tenth.
The scoring would begin in the top of the sixth, against Suns reliever Alex Burgos, when Rio Ruiz (HR, 5) belted a solo home run over the right field wall that would leap the Braves in front 1-0.
Flashing to the bottom of the seventh the Suns would tie the score at one. A lead off walk to Carlos Lopez, and a sac bunt by David Adams, set up a runner in scoring position for Terrence Dayleg. Dayleg would then knock a RBI single into left to score Lopez, and knot the score at one.
Moving to the bottom of eighth, against Braves reliever Harper, Ryan Rieger ripped a lead off double, to then move to third courtesy of Chris Hoo's sac bunt. With Rieger now on third, Eudy Pina arched a run-scoring sacrifice fly into center to move the Suns ahead 2-1.
In the top of the ninth, a pair of walks offered up by Suns reliever Tyler Higgins placed runners on first and second for Kevin Erins run-scoring single to tie the game at two.
To the top of the tenth, facing Suns righty Juancito Martinez, the Braves worked a pair of walks that set the table for Matt Lipka's RBI single moving the Braves ahead 3-2. It was then Emerson Landoni lacing a two-run single to provide insurance for Mississippi, and a 5-2 lead. With runners now on second and third, new Suns reliever Fabian Williamson offered up a wild pitch to balloon the tally to 6-2.
In the bottom of the tenth RBI single by Kenny Wilson and Carlos Lopez made it a 6-4 Suns deficit. With a pair of runners on, it was David Adams (HR, 6) three-run walk off home run that jolted the Suns to a 7-6 win.
Suns starter Chipper Smith lasted a third of an inning after leaving in the first with an apparent lower body injury. Lucas Sims in his start for the Braves generated seven frames on the mound surrendering one run (earned) on three hits while walking one and striking out three.
Tyler Bremer in relief for Jacksonville hurled four and a third scoreless frames allowing four hits while walking and striking out two. Suns bullpen arm Alex Burgos generated an inning a third, surrendering one run (earned) on one hit (home run) while not walking a batter and fanning three. Suns reliever Esmerling De La Rosa manufactured a pair of scoreless innings allowing one hit while walking two and striking out a solo batter. Tyler Higgins (BS,2) earned a blown save Fabian Williamson tossed a scoreless two-thirds on a frame. Juancito Martinez relief for Jacksonville lasted a third of an inning allowing four runs (all earned) on two hits while walking three and not collecting a strikeout.
The Suns and Braves will square off again Friday night from Bragan Field with a first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. ET. Suns will send out right-hander Scott Lyman (1-9, 6.41 ERA) while the Braves will counter with righty John Gant (4-0, 1.54 ERA).
