Mycal Jones to Triple-A Gwinnett

PEARL, MS -- Mississippi Braves outfielder Mycal Jones has been transferred back to Triple-A Gwinnett. RHP Andrew Waszak was also reassigned to High-A Carolina. No corresponding moves were announced.

Jones, 28, joined the M-Braves August 24. In eight games, he posted a .259 batting average with three RBI. Jones was hitting .267 with 12 extra-base hits and 25 RBI through 57 games at Gwinnett. He began the 2015 season at the disabled list with the G-Braves and was activated on May 2. The outfielder had a .444 average against southpaws compared to .190 against right-handers. He posted his best numbers in July, hitting .297 in 13 games that month. The Jacksonville native was selected by the Braves in the fourth round of the 2009 draft out of Miami Dade Community College.

Waszak, 24, is 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA in four outings with the M-Braves. He is 6-6 with one save and a 3.43 ERA in 24 games (11 starts) at High-A Carolina. Waszak also appeared in one game at Low-A Rome in April. The right-hander saw time at three levels last season including High-A Lynchburg (0-0, 9.20), Low-A Rome (0-0, 11.25) and Rookie-Danville (4-7, 4.44). Waszak was selected by the Braves in the 22nd round of the 2013 draft out of Michigan State University.

The Mississippi roster has 23 active players, 1 disabled and 1 suspended.
