Reno Aces News Release

RENO, Nev.-Rusty Ryal hit a three-run home run in the third inning, sparking a five-run frame and an 8-7 Reno Aces victory over the Tucson Padres Friday night at Aces Ballpark.

With the victory, first-place Reno now has won four-straight games overall and seven-straight at home. The club has won 11 of its last 12 games and 16 of its last 18.

The Aces pushed across two runs in the first, but five runs over the next two frames for Tucson gave the Padres a three-run lead. Reno would answer in the home half of the third, though, scoring five times to take a lead it would not relinquish.

Chris Jakubauskas (2-3)-the first of five Aces relievers to appear-earned the win, tossing two scoreless frames in relief of starter Zach Kroenke. Jonathan Albaladejo allowed a two-run homer in the ninth, but held on to record the final out and cement his 13th save.

The loss fell to Padres starter Jorge Reyes (4-7), who surrendered eight runs-seven earned-over six innings of work.

At the plate for Reno, Ryal's three-run blast was one-of-seven extra-base hits for the Aces. Jake Elmore doubled in the first, pushing his hitting streak to a franchise-high-tying 24 games, and Adam Eaton inched closer to the .400 mark with a double and a triple.

The series continues Saturday night at Aces Ballpark. LHP Patrick Corbin (2-1, 3.24 ERA) gets the nod for Reno, while Tucson will counter with RHP Matt Palmer (4-3, 5.50 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. PT, and the night will be highlighted by the Aces Baseball Card Set Giveaway presented by the Nevada Dairy Council and KOLO 8 News Now.
