Reno Aces News Release
RENO, Nev.- The Reno Aces Foundation has launched the Community Champions program, a venture that will use the 2012 Pacific Coast League Playoffs as a platform to raise money for youth and family non-profit initiatives throughout Northern Nevada, the Reno Aces announced today.
As part of the Community Champions program, $1 from every Aces playoff ticket sold will benefit the Reno Aces Foundation. In the offseason, the Aces Foundation-a registered 501(c)(3) organization-will administer public grants to deserving groups throughout Northern Nevada.
Local non-profit organizations will have the chance to utilize the Community Champions program as a fundraising opportunity. Interested non-profits can purchase Aces Ballpark playoff vouchers for $5 and sell them for $10 on consignment. The vouchers will be good for the best seat available at the time of redemption, from the Infield Reserved seating section and lower. All proceeds will be kept by the non-profit.
Additionally, local businesses will have the opportunity become a Community Champions Partner. As part of each partnership package, a portion of the money will be donated to the Reno Aces Foundation and distributed to non-profit organizations this winter. Collectively, the Aces will donate a number of playoff tickets to local charities on behalf of all the Community Champions Partners.
With just 41 games remaining in the regular season, the Aces enter play tonight with a 5.5-game lead in the Pacific North Division. Should the club fail to reach the postseason, the money raised through the Community Champions program will still be granted in the offseason, with game tickets to be honored during a specified period in the 2013 season.
