Former Jesuit and UNO star Johnny Giavotella had a big homecoming, going 2-for-3 with three RBI to lead the Omaha Storm Chasers past the New Orleans Zephyrs, 5-4 on Tuesday night at Zephyr Field.

New Orleans got on the board first with a Donnie Murphy solo home run to right field in the bottom of the second. The Z's tacked on another run when Nick Green walked and later scored on a wild pitch by Omaha starter Jake Odorizzi.

The Storm Chasers rebounded and took the lead in the third inning. Mitch Maier walked, followed by a double down the right field line by Irving Falu. Both were plated when Giavotella singled up the middle to tie the game.

Max Ramirez homered with two out in the fourth to put Omaha ahead, and Anthony Seratelli added a solo shot in the sixth, doubling the Storm Chasers ' lead to 4-2.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Z's rallied to load the bases with two outs. Mike Cervenak and Gaby Sanchez singled, followed by a walk from Murphy. Green battled a full count, drawing a walk to force in a run. Luke Montz grounded out to Giavotella to end the threat, preserving Omaha's lead.

Falu led off the eighth with a single to right field and stole second base before Giovatella scored him off an RBI single, increasing the lead 5-3.

Murphy led off the ninth with a home run to right, bringing the Z's within one run. The Zephyrs got the tying run on base with two out, but Kevin Mattison struck out looking to end the game.

Murphy led the Z's offense going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI.
