Reno Aces News Release
RENO, Nev.- After scoring a combined 26 runs over the last two nights, the Reno Aces pushed across just one run on Wednesday, as the club fell 8-1 to the Nashville Sounds at Aces Ballpark.
Brad Snyder singled up the middle to lead off the fourth inning, and advanced to third on a single and a throwing error. With Mike Jacobs at the plate, Snyder came across to score on a wild pitch by Sounds starter Aaron Laffey for Reno's lone run of the night.
The Aces combined for just seven hits on the night, with Easley and Snyder and Ed Easley each going 2-for-4.
Aces starter Charles Brewer was charged with the loss, as he gave up six runs-four earned-on eight hits through 4.0 innings. He walked four and struck out two.
Reliever Shawn Camp recorded his ninth scoreless outing for Reno, throwing 2.0 perfect innings with two strikeouts.
The series wraps up Thursday night at Aces Ballpark, as Reno looks to secure its 12th series split of the season. LHP Tyler Skaggs (6-7, 4.12 ERA) will get the nod for Reno, while the Sounds will counter with RHP Johnny Hellweg (10-5, 2.75 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
