ABC-27 to Air Six Bears Regular-Season Road Games
November 29, 2011 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hershey Bears News Release
HERSHEY, Pa. - The HERSHEY BEARS, in conjunction with ABC-27, have announced today the details on bringing six regular-season road games to television viewers across central Pennsylvania. The announcement was made by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.
"BEARS fans have been asking to see more of their team when they are away from home," Yingst said. "Teaming up with ABC-27 in the past allowed our fans to watch their team hoist the Calder Cup twice on the road. We are now able to move forward and test the water in the regular season thanks to the cooperation of other American Hockey League teams. This will be a big plus for the HERSHEY BEARS Hockey Club and our fans."
GIANT Food Stores has once again graciously teamed up with the BEARS, and will be the proud presenting sponsor of the road television broadcasts.
ABC-27 kicks off the broadcast schedule this Sunday, December 4, presenting the game between the HERSHEY BEARS and Bridgeport Sound Tigers live from Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Face off is set for 3:00 PM. "Voice of the BEARS" Scott Stuccio will call the action, with ABC-27 Sports Director Gregg Mace providing analysis. Mace, who sat with current Washington Capitals and former BEARS radio voice John Walton for three televised Calder Cup Finals series and championships, will also provide special intermission features during the broadcast.
