San Antonio Rampage News Release
STOCKTON, Calif. (Nov. 11, 2016) - The San Antonio Rampage (6-7-0-0) improved to 6-2 the road with a 4-1 victory over the Stockton Heat (5-3-1-0) Friday night in Stockton Arena.
The Rampage were dominant on both sides of the puck on the way to their first road win over Stockton since 2015. Rampage forward A.J. Greer recorded his third multi-point game of the season, reclaiming his spot atop the AHL rookie scoring leaderboard with 14 points in 13 games. Rocco Grimaldi also notched his fourth multi-point game of the year after collecting a goal and an assist, earning him the Third Star of the Game.
Rampage goaltender Spencer Martin was awarded his second straight First Star of the Game after saving 30-of-31 shots on goal by the Heat and recording an assist. Forward Troy Bourke tallied his second goal in back-to-back games, beginning his second point streak of the season.
San Antonio opened the scoring against Stockton when a first-period goal from Grimaldi gave the Rampage a 1-0 lead at 7:22 in the stanza. Greer had an assist on the play, his first of two hands on the night.
The Rampage extended their lead midway through the second, when defender Duncan Siemens collected his first goal of the season off of a play from Julien Nantel and Joe Whitney at the 7:53 mark. The helper from Nantel was the first of his professional career. Stockton evaded a shutout with a lone power-play goal from Andrew Manglapane at 13:17 in the period.
A pair of Rampage goals late in the third stanza extended the lead to 4-1, solidifying a sixth road victory for San Antonio with a 6-2 overall record away from home. The final goals of the night came just 27 seconds apart, from Bourke - assisted by Whitney - at 18:07, and Grimaldi with a helper from Greer at the 18:34 mark.
