ALBANY, NY. - The St. John's IceCaps fell 4-3 to the Albany Devils in a close battle on Saturday night at the Times Union Centre in Albany, NY.

The Devils kicked off the scoring in the first period with a tally from Blake Pietila, but Nikita Scherbak tied it up late in the first frame, from Brett Lernout.

St. John's stretched the lead to two with back-to-back goals from Michael McCarron and Mark Barberio in the second period. Chris Terry recorded two assists, while Barberio and Scherbak picked up another point each with helpers.

Pietila picked up another marker late in the second to pull the Devils within one, and then with less than five minutes left in the third - Rod Pelley potted the game-tying tally. Pietila completed his hat trick just 1:46 later with the game-winning goal.

Yann Danis was solid in net for the IceCaps, stopping 27-of-31 shots.
