
Vipers Acquire Toure' Murry

MCALLEN, Texas, January 10, 2015 - Rio Grande Valley Vipers General Manager Gianluca Pascucci today announced that the Vipers have acquired guard Toure' Murry.
Murry (6-5, 195, Wichita State) appeared in one game with the Utah Jazz this season, and also played on assignment with the Idaho Stampede. He averaged 13.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.1 steals in seven games with the Stampede. During the 2013-14 season, Murry played for the New York Knicks, where he saw action in 51 games and averaged 2.7 points.
Murry was a member of the Vipers' 2012-13 NBA D-League Championship squad. That season, he started 30-of-46 games and averaged 8.3 ppg. Murry was selected 15th overall in the 2012 NBA Development League Draft by the Austin Toros, and was acquired by the Vipers via trade on Nov. 5, 2012.
A Houston native, Murry played four seasons for the Wichita State Shockers from 2008-12, where he averaged 12.2 ppg, 4.5 rpg and 3.1 apg.
The Vipers visit the Texas Legends tonight at 7 p.m. (CT). Next week, RGV will play two games in the annual NBA Development League Showcase in Santa Cruz, Calif. The Vipers' first game is Friday, Jan. 16 at noon (CT) versus the Erie BayHawks. RGV's second Showcase matchup is versus the Reno Bighorns Sunday, Jan. 18 at 9 p.m. (CT).
