Ottawa 67's News Release

The 67's had a strong team effort in tonight's game against the Peterborough Petes with a 5-4 win and earned 2 important points in the Eastern Conference standings.

The 1st period saw the Ottawa 67's get on the board first as a result of a cross ice pass by Adam Craievich to Evan de Haan, who got his 4th goal of the season. However, with only a few minutes remaining in the period, the Pete's Hunter Garlent got his team on the board and it was a 1-1 game at the end of 20.

In the 2nd period, the Petes got the go ahead goal, but the 67's responded quickly with a powerplay goal by Dante Salituro who had a quick release to tie the game 2-2. The 67's took control of the 2nd half of the period with 3 goals coming from Travis Barron, Evan de Haan and Ben Fanjoy. With only seconds left in the period, the Petes got a goal to make it 5-3 in favour of the 67's at the end of 40.

The lightning offense by the 67's in the 2nd period forced the Petes to pull Matthew Mancina from the net and put in Dylan Wells at the start of the 3rd period.

The Petes scored early in the 3rd period to make it 5-4, but were unable to get the equalizer, even with their goalie pulled and the extra attacker out in the ice for the last minute and half of the period.

At the end of the game, Coach Jeff Brown told the media that "this was a huge win for us."

The 67's are in action next on Saturday, December 19th as face they face the Kingston Frontenacs at the Arena at TD Place for a 1:00 p.m puck drop.

Tickets are available at the 67's website, or by calling 613-232-6767, ext. 1.
