Springfield, MO - The Cardinals (15-13, 49-48) exploded with 6 runs in the home-half of the 3rd inning, bumping them ahead early for their 8-2 win over the Naturals (14-13, 43-53) Tuesday night at Hammons Field. The Cardinals lead the series 1-0

Notables:

INF Thomas Saggese made his Springfield Cardinals debut tonight at Hammons Field. Saggese was just acquired as part of the five-player deal when the St. Louis Cardinals sent LHP Jordan Montgomery and RHP Chris Stratton to the Texas Rangers. RHP Tekoah Roby, now the Cardinals #4 prospect, and LHP John King were also part of the package from Texas.

C Pedro Pagés went 3-or-4 on the night with 2 doubles and 2 runs

LF Mike Antico knocked his 13th home run of the season tonight, a 3-run shot in the 3rd inning that traveled 397 feet into right field that put the Cardinals up 3-0.

3B Jacob Buchberger nailed his 14th home run of the season, a 2-run bomb in the 3rd inning that extended the Cardinals lead over the Travelers 5-0

CF Victor Scott II stole his 18th base of Double-A, his 68th of the 2023 season. He ranks 2nd in all of Minor League Baseball in SB.
