3 Komets named UHL First/Second Team All Stars

Fort Wayne, IN --- The UHL announced it's postseason First and Second Team All-Stars today. Three Komets earned All-Star recognition and each skated his first regular season with the Fort Wayne UHL team. UHL head coaches and general managers, as well as members of the media, made the selections.

Tom Lawson (goaltender) and Kelly Perrault (defenseman) were named to the First Team All-Stars while winger Bobby Stewart was selected to the Second Team.

Lawson, 23, finished his 2nd UHL season leading UHL goalies with a 2.00 goals against average and 7 shutouts in 56 games played. His 2.00 average was a new Fort Wayne franchise high for a goaltender and his 7 shutouts tied a Fort Wayne franchise record of shutouts in a season. The Whitby, Ontario native also snagged the UHL Goaltender of the Month award for his performance during the months of November and December and captured the UHL's Goaltender of the Week award on 4 occasions.

Perrault, 29, led all UHL defensemen with 52 assists and 64 points in his 7th pro season and 2nd UHL season. The Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta native set a new Komet record for assists by a defenseman in a UHL season. Perrault scored 4 3-point games during the season including 2 4-assist games.

Stewart, 28, led the Komets with 48 goals, a new record high for a Fort Wayne player in a UHL season. The McMurry, Alberta native also led the Komets with 82 points, 4 short-handed goals and a team record 11 game winning tallies. The All-Star winger also led the Komets with 308 shots in 72 games played during his 5th pro season and first season in the UHL.
