Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies ended the Trenton Titans' hopes of winning the Kelly Cup Monday night with its 7-3 thrashing of its cross-state rival. For the second time in as many years, the Bullies swept the Titans in three games. This time the Bullies defeated the Titans in the Northeast Division Semifinals.

Kevin Colley returned to Atlantic City's lineup, playing his first playoff game this year after serving a two-game suspension issued during the regular season. Colley finished the game with three points (1G, 2A), including the game-winning power-play tally with 33 seconds remaining in the first period to put the Bullies up 4-1.

Seven different Bullies players scored, including Ian Walterson, Jim Henkel, Shawn Maltby, and Colley in the first period, J.F. Caudron in the second, and Scott Matzka and Paul Spadafora in the third period.

Spadafora's unassisted short-handed goal at 17:44 of the final frame was his third of the playoffs, tying him with teammates Maltby and Caudron for the team-lead in playoff goals. Spadafora currently leads the team in scoring with six points (3G, 3A), including two short-handed tallies, and a plus-6.
