$1 Beer Night, Bark in the Park, Giveaways on Tap this Week

(STATE COLLEGE, PA) - The fun of Opening Week at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park continues this week as the State College Spikes begin a four-game homestand on Monday night. The slate is highlighted by Thursday night's combination of $1 Beer Night and Bark in the Park Night, as well as a pair of giveaways celebrating the start of the season.

The string of four straight home games begins with Monday's 7:05 p.m. matchup against the Williamsport Crosscutters on the first Buck Night of the season, presented by 95.3 FM 3WZ. Fans can get into the park with $1 Outfield Bleacher seats, then enjoy $1 hot dogs, $1 small sodas and $1 peanuts all game long.

Tuesday, the Spikes start a three-game series against the Batavia Muckdogs (Miami Marlins) with a 7:05 p.m. tilt. The first 500 fans through the gates when they open at 6 p.m. will receive a 2014 Spikes Schedule T-Shirt, presented by First National Bank, for the first T-Shirt Tuesday of the season.

Wednesday night, the Spikes bring the flavor of the soccer pitch to the ballpark on World Soccer Night to celebrate the current action in Brazil. First pitch will be at 7:05, and the first 1,000 fans will receive a Spikes Futbol Scarf, presented by P.J. Harrigan's. It's also a Half-Price Wednesday, presented by BIG Froggy 101. Fans can purchase half-price Outfield Bleacher tickets, then enjoy half-price 16-oz. domestic draft beers from 6-8 p.m. and half-price medium sodas all game long.

The Spikes then cap off the homestand with a 7:05 p.m. matchup against Batavia on Thursday. Fans will experience the dynamic duo of $1 Beer Night, presented by 93.7 THE BUS, and Bark in the Park Night, presented by Metzger Animal Hospital and NEWSRADIO 103. The debut of $1 Beer Night will feature $1 12-oz. domestic draft beers on sale from 6-8 p.m.

Fans can also bring their favorite four-legged friends to the park on Thursday for the first of two Bark in the Park Nights this year. The night will include several dog-related promotions and activities throughout the evening, including dog-themed in -game entertainment and music before and during the game.

Dog owners are reminded to bring only one dog per person, and all dogs must be allowed on a leash. Also, dogs are not permitted in the general seating bowl (Diamond Club, Field Box or Bullpen Box sections) or the Left-Field Picnic Pavilion, but are allowed to be with their owners on the concourse and in the Outfield Bleacher seating section.
