Nate Danielson Returns to Grand Rapids

January 6, 2026 - GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday reassigned center Nate Danielson to the Grand Rapids Griffins. Danielson, the ninth overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, appeared in 28 games with the Red Wings with seven points (2-5-7), four penalty minutes and a minus-seven rating. Danielson made his NHL debut on Nov. 9 against the Chicago Blackhawks and later bagged his first NHL goal during a two-point night (1-1-2) on Nov. 18 against the Seattle Kraken. Griffins' Eduards Tralmaks Named to Team Latvia for 2026 Winter Olympics

January 6, 2026 - GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Earlier today, Team Latvia announced that Grand Rapids Griffins forward Eduards Tralmaks will represent his country at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games from Feb. 6-22. Tralmaks becomes the seventh player to participate in an Olympics while playing for the Griffins. Tralmaks is the third current or former Griffin to be named to a 2026 Olympic roster so far, joining USA's Dylan Larkin and Germany's Moritz Seider. Detroit Recalls John Leonard from Griffins

January 4, 2026 - GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Sunday recalled left wing John Leonard from the Grand Rapids Griffins. Leonard has 32 points and 20 goals in 23 games with the Griffins this season to go along with two penalty minutes, seven game-winners and a plus-15 rating. In the AHL rankings, the sixth-year veteran is tied for sixth in points, second in goals and first in game-winners.
