Record-Setting SS Fritz Genther Named Frontier League Player of the Week
May 18, 2026 - AVON, OH - It's another week, another award for the Washington Wild Things, and the New York Boulders also add to this season's slate of weekly award honors for 2026. After two weeks of play, the Wild Things and Boulders sit atop their respective divisions, and are home to the Frontier League's Player and Pitcher of the Week winners.
Following Jeff Liquori, who took home the Player of the Week award last week, Washington's Andrew Herbert earned the Week 2 Pitcher of the Week honors with a strong outing.

American Association: The independent American Association started its 2026 season this week with the same 12 teams and six-team East and West divisional alignment as last season. Each team will play 100 games through September 7, 2026. The league's Kane County Cougars (Geneva, IL) will play three games this season as the Kane County Swedish Meatballs to celebrate the strong Swedish population in the Geneva area.

Hill Shines, Titans Blow out Boulders
May 18, 2026 - Ottawa, ON - The Ottawa Titans (7-3) dominated the New York Boulders (7-3) in a 14-1 victory, where pitcher Kaleb Hill (win, 1-0) went seven and a third innings, giving up one run and striking out four.
Hill looked strong early, going three up, three down in his first frame.
Kaiden Cardoso, down 0-2 in the count, got things going with a bases-clearing double to give the Titans an early 3-0 lead.

Zander Darby Named Northwest League Player of the Week
May 18, 2026 - EUGENE, OR - Zander Darby was named the Northwest League player of the week for his performance against the Tri-City Dust Devils this past week at Gesa Stadium in Pasco, Washington. Darby appeared in 5 games and went 13-21 at the plate with a .619 batting average and a 1.632 OPS. He recorded at least two hits in four of the games and had two four-hit performances on Tuesday's 17-4 victory and Saturday's 15-8 victory. He tallied five doubles and his first triple of the season while scoring eight runs and seven RBI's.
