Mavericks' Kyle Burroughs Recalled to AHL

INDEPENDENCE, MO - The Missouri Mavericks announced Wednesday morning that rookie defenseman, Kyle Burroughs, has been recalled to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers-the Mavs' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate. Defenseman Loic Leduc has been assigned to Missouri by the New York Islanders (NHL).

Burroughs has played 18 games in a Mavericks sweater this season, notching 1 goal and 6 assists with a +11. The Vancouver, BC native was drafted by the New York Islanders in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and assigned to the Mavericks at the top of the 2015-16 ECHL season. This is not his first trip to the AHL, as the young defenseman played 9 games with the Sound Tigers during the 2013-14 season.

Loic Leduc will once again wear number 55 for the Mavericks upon his return to Silverstein Eye Centers Arena/ Leduc played 5 games for Missouri earlier this season, scoring 1 goal with a +2. The Chateauguay, QC defenseman who towers 6'7" over the competition was drafted by the New York Islanders in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

The Mavericks are home at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena for their next two games on New Year's Eve at 7:05p.m. against the Wichita Thunder, and New Year's Day at 4:10p.m. against the Allen Americans.
