Lugnuts' Gudino and Sotillo Promoted to Dunedin

LANSING, Mich. - In conjunction with the Toronto Blue Jays, Lansing Lugnuts catcher Andres Sotillo and infielder Yeltsin Gudiño have been promoted to A-Advanced Dunedin, with catcher Owen Spiwak and infielder Jesus Navarro transferred to the Lugnuts from Short-Season A Vancouver in a corresponding move.

Sotillo, 24, batted .221 with one home run and five RBIs in 23 games with Lansing, while Gudiño, 21, boasted a .321 batting average and 15 walks compared to only six strikeouts in 38 games. In June alone, Gudiño collected 26 hits in 67 at-bats over a 19-game span, a .388 batting average.

Spiwak, 23, is a native of Mississauga, Ontario, who was drafted by Toronto in the 10th round of the 2015 draft from Odessa College. He had played in four games with Vancouver, going 1-for-10 with two runs batted in. Navarro, 20, hails from San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, the same hometown as Lugnuts manager Cesar Martin. Navarro was batting 4-for-28 (.143) in nine games with the Canadians, stealing three bases and knocking in two runs.
