Kings Activate LaBarbera; Assign Quick To Manchester

MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have activated goaltender Jason LaBarbera from the injured reserve list and have assigned goaltender Jonathan Quick to the Monarchs, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi today announced. In addition, the Monarchs have assigned goaltender Daniel Taylor to the ECHL's Reading Royals, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

LaBarbera, 27, has missed the last eight Kings games due to a rib injury. In 18 games with the Kings this season - his second with the team - the 6-foot-3, 230-pound native of Burnaby, British Columbia, has a record of 6-9-1 with one shutout, a goals-against-average of 2.56 and a save-percentage of .916. LaBarbera, originally selected by the New York Rangers in the third-round (66th overall) in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, has a record of 18-20-3 with two shutouts, a goals-against-average of 2.90 and a save-percentage of .901 in 52 career NHL games with the Kings and the Rangers.

Quick, 21, has played in three games with the Kings this season. He made his NHL debut and posted his first NHL win versus Buffalo on December 6. The 6-foot, 180-pound native of Milford, Connecticut, has a record of 1-2-0, a goals-against-average of 3.86 and a save-percentage of .855 in his three appearances with the Kings this season. Quick has also played in three games with Manchester this season where he has a record of 1-2-0, a goals-against-average of 2.67 and a save-percentage of .909, and in 13 games with the Reading this season where he has a record of 7-5-1 with one shutout, a goals-against-average of 2.46 and a save-percentage of .907. The Kings selected Quick in the third-round (72nd overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Taylor, 21, appeared in four games with the Monarchs this season and is unbeaten in regulation with a record of 2-1-0 with an overtime loss, a goals-against-average of 2.93 and a .908 save-percentage. The 5-foot-11, 186-pound native of Plymouth, England, has also played in three games with the Royals this season and is unbeaten with a record of 3-0-0 with a 2.64 goals-against-average and a .917 save-percentage. The Kings selected Taylor in the seventh-round (221st overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
