Idaho Comes up Short to Austin

March 11, 2016 - NBA G League (G League)
Idaho Stampede News Release

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Stampede fell to the Austin Spurs, 92-96, on Friday night at CenturyLink Arena.

The Stampede led the Spurs by as many as five points in the first half but were down 43-47 at the break. Idaho shot 45.7 percent from the field in the third frame to take a 73-70 lead before foul trouble plagued the Stampede in the fourth quarter as Austin edged ahead.

"I think we had really good stretches of play, but the defensive pressure bothered us in the first half," said Stampede Head Coach Dean Cooper. "We put in a great effort and I feel for my guys. The good thing about basketball is that you can bounce back quickly and try again to win."

Idaho was led by Treveon Graham, who registered career-high 34 points and seven rebounds, as all five Stampede starters scored in double-figures. Corey Hawkins added 15 points and four assists, while Utah Jazz assignee Tibor Pleiss recorded his 10th double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds. JJ O'Brien (13 points) and Jared Cunningham (11 points) combined for 24.

Austin was paced by Deshaun Thomas (18 points and 10 rebounds) and Brandon Fields (17 points).

Idaho looks to bounce back against Austin tomorrow night at CenturyLink Arena at 7 p.m. MT.
