Sound Tigers Acquire Langlois from Springfield

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (March 12, 2014) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that they have acquired forward Jeremy Langlois from the Springfield Falcons in exchange for defenseman Dallas Jackson.

Langlois, 23, is in his first professional season and began the year with the Falcons, where he skated in five games. As a member of the Evansville Icemen (ECHL), Langlois notched 52 points (16 goals, 36 assists) in 49 games. The Tempe, Ariz., native was a four-year player at Quinnipiac University, where he helped lead the team to its first NCAA Frozen Four and National Championship appearance in his senior season in 2012-13. In 156 games with the Bobcats, Langlois totaled 100 points (56 goals, 44 assists). He will be recalled to the AHL and report to the Sound Tigers.

Jackson, 24, is in his third full professional season after spending three years of junior hockey in the WHL. Before the trade, he led all active Sound Tigers with 24 points (three goals, 21 assists). Jackson split time last season between the Sound Tigers and Gwinnett Gladiators, but spent all of 2013-14 in the AHL, appearing in 53 games. The Edson, Alb., native skated in 62 games for Gwinnett in his rookie year, as well, but also saw action in three games for the Sound Tigers, along with two for the Lake Erie Monsters.
