Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release
Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today the baseball club has claimed right-handed pitcher Taylor Sewitt off waivers from the Gary SouthShore RailCats.
Sewitt, 23, appeared in 36 games for the RailCats this season, going 4-1 with a 5.03 ERA. The rookie hails from Sydney, Australia and played collegiately at Manhattan College. He will join the Goldeyes tomorrow in Sioux Falls.
The Goldeyes have now have 22 players on their active roster, including 11 pitchers and 11 position players.
Winnipeg begins a three-game series in Sioux Falls against the Canaries tonight. The Goldeyes have closed the gap in the American Association's wild card race to just 1 ½ games with 10 games remaining in the regular season.
