
Milons Homers in 5-4 Loss to Windy City

LOVES PARK, Ill. - Jereme Milons hit a 2-run home run in the eighth inning Sunday evening, but the Rockford Aviators (3-17), presented by Pearson, fell one run short, losing to Windy City (7-15) at Aviators Stadium.
Windy City scored first on a Chad Cregar RBI double in the first inning to lead 1-0.
Rockford tied the game in the bottom of the second when Ted Obregon singled home Jereme Milons with one out. Rockford loaded the bases with one two outs, but Evan Button grounded to first to end the inning.
Windy City got its big inning in the third. With two outs, the ThunderBolts scored four times on five hits to take a 5-1 lead after two and a half innings.
Aviators' catcher Eric Bainer tripled to start the bottom of the seventh. Ray Hernandez, who replaced Obregon earlier in the game, grunded out to second to bring home the run and cut the Windy City lead to 5-2 after seven.
With two outs and a runner at third in the eighth, Milons homered into the Budweiser Party Porch in right field to bring the Aviators to within one run at 5-4, but Rockford failed to score in the ninth and lost its ninth one-run game of the season.
Trevor Harden started for Rockford and suffered the loss, his third of the season. The righty pitched eight innings and gave up five runs on 10 hits, struck out four and walked four.
Windy City starter Matt Wickswat went seven innings, allowing two runs on seven hits, struck out five and walked 2 on his way to picking up his second win of the season. Releiver Andy Mee pitched a perfect ninth and collected his second save of 2013.
After an off-day on Monday, Rockford will head out to play the Southern Illinois Miners on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before returning home Friday.
