Reno Aces News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas-The Reno Aces were shutout by the Round Rock Express for the second-straight game on Tuesday night, in a 6-0 loss at The Dell Diamond.

The game marked just the second time in franchise history, and the first since May 26 and 27 of 2010, that Reno has been shutout in back-to-back games.

RHP Charles Brewer cruised through the first two innings, allowing just one hit, before hitting a rough patch in the third. A one-out home run by Alex Buchholz, his second of the series, put the Express on the board. Brewer loaded the bases on two singles and a walk, and Round Rock put up two more runs in the inning off a two-RBI single off the bat of Aaron Cunningham.

Brewer allowed three more runs on the night, including a two-run home run to Yangervis Solarte in the sixth. He was charged with his fourth loss of the season, giving up six earned runs on 10 hits while striking out three, through 6.0 innings.

At the dish for Reno, five Aces batters each collected a hit. Brad Snyder's double to lead off the second marked Reno's first extra-base hit since Kila Ka'aihue recorded a double in the fourth inning of Saturday's contest in Albuquerque.

Relievers Garrett Mock and Matt Gorgen combined to throw 2.0 hitless, shutout innings after Brewer's exit, while striking out five Express batters.

LHP Martin Perez earned his first win of the season for Round Rock. He gave up just three runs through 7.0 innings, while striking out seven. RHP Johan Yan preserved the shutout, allowing just two hits and striking out four through the final 2.0 innings of the game.

The series continues on Wednesday night in Round Rock. LHP Tyler Skaggs (3-5, 5.93 ERA) will get the nod for Reno, while the Express will counter with RHP Lisalverto Bonilla (3-2, 7.36 ERA). First pitch is set for 5:05 p.m. PT at The Dell Diamond.

Reno returns home on May 24 for a Memorial Day Weekend series against the Tacoma Rainiers. Tickets are on sale for the upcoming series, and all Aces home games, at RenoAces.com, by calling (775) 334-7000 or by visiting the Aces Ballpark Ticket Office.
