Lightning Assign Angelidis, Palat, Sustr and Desjardins to Syracuse

Syracuse, NY - The Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned forwards Mike Angelidis, Ondrej Palat, defenseman Andrej Sustr and goaltender Cedrick Desjardins to the Crunch, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced today. Additionally, the Lightning have recalled forwards Dana Tyrell and Brett Connolly.
Angelidis, 27, has skated in 64 games with the Crunch this season, recording 21 points (10g, 11a) to go along with 142 penalty minutes. The Woodbridge, Ontario native has played in 433 career AHL games with the Norfolk Admirals, Albany River Rats and Crunch, collecting 171 points (86g, 85a), to go along with 902 penalty minutes. Last season he was a member of the Admirals team that captured the Calder Cup Championship, skating in 18 playoff games and recording six points (1g, 5a). The 6-foot-1, 213-pound forward skated in six games with the Lightning last season and made his first appearance this year in the club's 3-2 shootout loss to the Florida Panthers on April 2.
Palat, 22, has played in 49 games with the Crunch this season, notching 44 points (11g, 33a) with 33 penalty minutes. His 33 assists lead Syracuse and are sixth in the AHL, while his plus-24 rating is second among forwards. Palat is third overall on the team for points. A native of Frydek-Mistek, Czech Republic, Palat has skated in 110 AHL games, last year with the Norfolk Admirals and this season with Syracuse. Palat made his NHL debut on March 4 and has played in 14 Lightning games, collecting four points (2g, 2a) this season. He was drafted by the Lightning in the seventh round, 208th overall, of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Sustr, 22, skated in 39 games with the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks this past season, recording 25 points (9g, 16a) to go along with 53 penalty minutes. He ranked first among Nebraska-Omaha defensemen in goals and points. The Plzen, Czech Republic native has skated in 111 career NCAA games with the Mavericks, posting 51 points (15g, 36a) to go along with a plus-24 rating. Sustr also appeared in two games with the Lightning, making his NHL debut on March 29 against the New Jersey Devils.
Desjardins, 27, has appeared in 30 AHL games this season with the Crunch and Hamilton Bulldogs, compiling a record of 12-15-3 with a 2.62 goals-against average and .912 save percentage. Since being acquired from Montreal on February 14, the 6-foot, 192-pound goaltender has notched a record of 5-2-1 to go along with a 1.71 goals-against average and .933 save percentage with the Crunch. Desjardins has appeared in three games, all losses, with the Lightning this season.
Tyrell, 23, has played in 15 games with the Crunch, posting eight points (5g, 3a) to go along with 11 penalty minutes. He has posted a positive or even plus/minus rating in 12 of his 15 games with Syracuse. The 5-11, 192-pound forward has also played in 12 games with the Lightning this season, collecting three points (1g, 2a). Tyrell was originally drafted by the Lightning in the second round, 47th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
Connolly, 20, has appeared in 67 games with Syracuse this season, registering 57 points to go along with a plus-15 rating and 51 penalty minutes. The Campbell River, British Columbia native ranks second on the Crunch for goals and points, and third for assists with 30. Of his 27 goals this season, eight have come while with the man advantage, ranking second on the Crunch in that category. Connolly also has seven game-winning goals good for first on the Crunch and second in the AHL.
