Reign Topple Condors 4-3

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Ontario Reign (38-13-3-2), defending Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, defeated the Bakersfield Condors (18-36-2-3) 4-3 before 6,077at Rabobank Arena on Saturday night.

The Condors jumped to a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal by Daniel Kroger at 1:38 of the first period. The Reign tied the game 1-1 on Kyle Kraemer's 21st goal of the season at 15:10. C.J. Stretch's one-touch pass sent Kraemer into the Bakersfield zone where he fired a wrist shot over Scott Greenham's shoulder from the right faceoff dot.

Ontario got its first lead at 5:55 of the second frame as Mario Lamoureux extended his league-leading rookie scoring tally to 49 points (21g, 28a). Justin Pender shoveled a pass to Lamoureux and he wristed a shot over Greenham's blocker from the right circle. Matt Register extended the Reign lead to 3-1 with a booming shot from blue line at 8:21. Stretch and Kevin Estrada assisted on the play. The Reign had a man advantage when Peter Boyd turned the tables on Ontario with a shorthanded goal to cut the Ontario lead to 3-2 at 11:52.

D.J. King put Ontario up 4-2 at 6:14 of the third period as he buried Stretch's pass for his second goal in as many games. But Bakersfield answered quickly. Brett Perlini finished off an outnumbered attack at 8:08 to cut Ontario's lead to 4-3. Greenham came out of the Bakersfield net in the closing minute, but the Ontario defense stayed tight and the Reign went on to its third win in a row.

Sergey Kostenko earned his second consecutive win with 22 saves on 25 shots; Greenham took the loss with 32 saves on 36 shots.
