ELMIRA, N.Y. - February 24, 2013 - The Elmira Jackals finish their season series with the Kalamazoo Wings this afternoon with a matinee at First Arena. A win would give the Jackals seven of a possible eight standings points for the week.

The Jackals are facing the Wings tonight for the fourth, and final, time this season, and third at First Arena. The Jackals are 1-1-1 against Kalamazoo this season after dropping a 2-1 decision in a shootout last night.. The Jackals have been able to fire at will when facing Kalamazoo this season. They recorded a season-high 48 shots in their 2-1 win in Kalamazoo on Jan. 15 and after 46 shots last night are averaging 45 per game against the Wings. Despite the heavy workload, former Jackals goalie Joel Martin has been tough against his former team and has stopped 129 of 135 shots in the season series (.956 SVP).
The Jackals enter tonight with 54 games played which are the second fewest in the ECHL. This game, however, is the fourth of four this week and 10th in the last 19 days. Elmira will play four-game weeks in four of the final six weeks of the season, including this week. Only one of those weeks (March 18 - 24) will feature four home games. The lightest week will be March 11 - 17 when the Jackals play just twice. When the calendar flips to March, Elmira will be at its busiest with 16 games in 30 days.
