Stampede Get Seven Players in 2012 Draft

BOISE, Idaho - The 2012 NBA Development League was held tonight, and the Idaho Stampede selected seven players in the eight-round draft, beginning with Justin Harper (6-9, 225, Richmond, b. 8/30/89) as the team's first pick and third overall selection in the draft.
"The Stampede and Trail Blazers are saturating this organization with character," Head Coach Mike Peck said. "We will work hard, play hard and do things together."
The next six selections made by the Stampede were:

Harper was an All-Atlantic 10 First Team member as a senior at Richmond, where Harper played from 2007-11. Harper was selected 32nd overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2011 NBA Draft and his rights were then traded to the Orlando Magic. During the 2011 NBA lockout, Harper played professionally in France before coming back to the States and playing with the Magic during the 2011-12 season. In 14 games with Orlando, Harper averaged 1.4 points and 0.9 rebounds in 6.0 minutes per game.
Harper participated in training camp for the Magic before the start of the 2012-13 season.
Mutombo is the nephew of former NBA great Dikembe Mutombo.
