TinCaps Announce Roster Move

The Fort Wayne TinCaps, in conjunction with the San Diego Padres, announced the following roster move following Thursday night's game:

RHP Adys Portillo transferred from Fort Wayne to Double-A San Antonio. Portillo, 20, went 6-6 with a Midwest League-leading 1.87 ERA in 18 starts with the TinCaps. In 91 2/3 innings of work, he allowed 19 earned runs, while striking out 81 and walked 45. Portillo currently ranks second in the league in WHIP (1.08) and batting average against (.169).

Last season in 23 appearances with the TinCaps, the Venezuelan-born pitcher went 3-11 with a 7.11 ERA. This season he was named the starting pitcher for the Eastern Division in the Midwest League All-Star game, and earned the victory in that game. He was also named the Midwest League's pitcher of the week for the week of May 21st-27th.

The TinCaps roster currently stands at 24 players, one below the Midwest League limit.
