CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Burlington scored three runs in the 4th inning on one hit as the Bees beat the Kernels 4-2 on Monday night. The Kernels got solo home runs by Abel Baker and Gary Mitchell.

Abel Baker gave the Kernels a 1-0 lead in the 2nd inning with a solo, towering shot to right field.

Gary Mitchell cut the Bees lead to 3-2 with a solo home run in the 6th inning. Mitchell's 9th blast of the year went the opposite way, and gave him the team lead in home runs.

The Bees added an insurance run in the top of the 9th inning, taking a 4-2 lead. Rashun Dixon reached with a double when he lofted a high fly ball to center that Kernels centerfielder Chevy Clarke couldn't locate. Dixon came home with two outs when Nick Rickles reached on an infield RBI single.
