FORT WAYNE, Ind. - A season-high-tying four errors and an early four-run deficit proved too much for the Fort Wayne TinCaps to overcome Monday in a 6-2 loss to the Lansing Lugnuts. Matt Wisler yielded four runs in the third inning, and the TinCaps struck out 11 times, falling for the second consecutive night.

Wisler (2-4) faced seven batters over the first two innings, but faced eight in an outing-defining third inning. Lansing's Carlos Perez and Andy Burns both knocked in two runs in the frame, giving the Lugnuts the early 4-0 lead. Fort Wayne (2-2, 33-41) responded with two runs off the bat of Duanel Jones in the fourth, cutting the Lansing (3-1, 50-23) lead in half.

Wisler departed after four innings having allowed four earned runs, his highest total since his first start of the season on April 9th. James Jones surrendered one hit over two innings of work, but Johnny Barbato allowed two runs in the seventh, and Lansing stretched its lead to 6-2. Luis De La Cruz tossed a perfect ninth inning.

The second game of the series is scheduled for Tuesday night at Parkview Field at 7:05. The starters are RHP Cody Hebner for Fort Wayne and RHP Aaron Sanchez for Lansing.
