Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce that LHP Eswarlin Jimenez has been activated from the 7-day disabled list. Mike LaCassa, Minor League Operations Manager for the LA Angels, announced the move on Monday.
Jimenez went on the DL with blisters on his pitching hand back on June 13th. In 14 games (10 starts) for the Kernels, he has a 2-4 record and 4.53 ERA, allowing 72 hits and 34 runs (29 earned) in 57.2 IP. He is scheduled to start for the Kernels Tuesday night against the Burlington Bees at 6:35 pm.
With today's transaction, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with one player on the disabled list.
The Kernels continue the current six game home stand with a 6:35 pm game against the Burlington Bees, the Midwest League affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. The current home stand continues through Wednesday, June 27th.
