Kernels Put Three on MWL All-Star Team

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Midwest League announced the rosters for the 2012 MWL Summer All-Star Classic, scheduled for June 19th at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark in Geneva, IL, and the Cedar Rapids Kernels had three players selected to the team. The All-Stars were nominated and selected by the field managers of the 16 MWL teams.Kernels third baseman Kaleb Cowart and relief pitchers Ty Kelley and Stephen Tromblee were selected to the MWL West team as reserves. The Kernels were the only MWL West team without a starter.
Peoria and Kane County each had two starters selected to the MWL West team and Wisconsin and Beloit had seven players overall. Bowling Green led all MWL teams with three starters on the MWL East team and eight players overall.
Kane County will provide the coaching staff for the MWL West team and the Lansing field staff will coach the MWL East team.
The 2012 MWL All-Star Summer Classic, hosted by the Kane County Cougars, is June 18th and 19th, with the game played on June 19th. Tickets are available by contacting the Kane County Cougars at www.kccougars.com or by calling (630) 232-8811.
