Roughnecks Defeat Rush 13-10

Edmonton, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks held on for a 13-10 victory as they netted five fourth quarter goals to pick up their second win of the season against the Edmonton Rush Friday night at Rexall Place.

Curtis Dickson recorded his sixth consecutive hat trick against the Rush as he netted a team-leading four goals and three assists. Jeff Shattler also picked up three goals and a helper while Scott Ranger had a hand in four goals and picked up two of his own. Dane Dobbie (2g), Shawn Evans (1g) and Daryl Veltman (1g) also scored for Calgary.

Scott Evans led the Rush with seven points (6g, 1a) while Shawn Williams (4a) chipped in with four assists.

Mike Poulin made 42 saves for Calgary as the Roughnecks held the Rush to three goals in the first half.

Both squads return to Calgary tomorrow night for Cardel Ruckus in the Rough House in support of the Calgary District Lacrosse Association (CDLA). The team with the highest paid attendance in this weekend's fan edition of the Battle of Alberta will win a charitable donation in the amount of $5,000 for their local minor lacrosse program. Fans are encouraged to join the Roughnecks at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Saturday, March 10 to help earn funds for the CDLA by beating Edmonton's Friday night attendance. Game time is 7:00 p.m. Saturday's contest will be broadcast live on Sportsnet West and Pacific.
