Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL and affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders and American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, announce that the team will return from its brief two-game road swing to play twice at home over Valentine's weekend.
After playing back-to-back games this Wednesday, February 9th and Thursday, February 10th, against the Trenton Devils, the K-Wings will return home this Saturday, February 12th with a 7:30 p.m. versus the Greenville Road Warriors on Boy Scout Night and another Saturday "Celebrity" Series game featuring Mayor Bobby Hopewell and the Killamazoo Derby Darlins. Saturday's game will also feature a Battle of the Badges at 4:30 p.m. featuring members of the Kalamazoo Public Safety versus the Portage Fire and Police Departments and both teams will also be accepting donations to benefit the Cuff and Ladder Fund. As an added value, fans can get into the Battle of the Badges with their ticket to the K-Wings game.
Two-year season-ticket holder Chad Smith will serve as assistant head coach for the game. As part of their season ticket holder perks, Smith was one of four two-year season-ticket holders selected at random to experience a special fan experience.
After a road game on Sunday, February 13th against the Toledo Walleye, the K-Wings will return to Wings Stadium for a 7 p.m. face-off during the 11th Annual Pink Ice Game, presented by WWMT and WKFR versus the Wheeling Nailers. The pink ice game is always the largest wedding in southwest Michigan. Tying the knot this year will be Brenda Phillips and William Godfrey.
