
Goaltender Janus Re-Assigned to Blades

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that goaltender Jaroslav Janus has been re-assigned to the team from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League.
Janus (pronounced: YAHN-is) returns to the Everblades after being recalled to the Admirals on January 18. During his most recent stint in Norfolk the 21-year-old made his first AHL appearance, earning a tie in a 7-6 overtime loss against the Charlotte Checkers on February 3.
With the Everblades this season Janus has seen action in 20 games, posting an 8-10-0 record with a 2.98 goals against average.
A 6th round draft pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2009, Janus began the 2009-10 campaign by seeing action in 13 games with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League where he posted a record of 7-4-2 with a 2.81 goals against average and a .918 save percentage. The Presov, Slovakia native finished out the year playing in 13 games with the Admirals where he was 7-6-0 with a 2.07 GAA and a .922 save percentage.
The Everblades also announced today that goaltender Shane Owen has been released from his amateur tryout contract. The 20-year-old was with the Everblades for their last five games and made his professional debut at Toledo on January 30.
Owen joined the Everblades after beginning the season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Moncton Wildcats where he posted a record of 12-12-3 with a 3.09 goals against average and a .913 save percentage in 27 games with the Wildcats.

The Everblades return to action on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 when they travel to Cincinnati to take on the Cyclones at 7:30 p.m. from US Bank Arena.
