Wild Recalls Earl from Aeros, Reassigns Almond

HOUSTON --- The American Hockey League's (AHL) Houston Aeros, affiliate of the National Hockey League's (NHL) Minnesota Wild, today announced that Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher has recalled left wing Robbie Earl from Houston and has reassigned center Cody Almond from Minnesota to the Aeros.

Earl, 25 (6/2/85), has posted nine points (4-5-9) in 14 games for the Aeros this season. The 5-foot-11, 198-pound native of Chicago, Ill., totaled six points (6-0-6) and averaged 8:56 time on ice (TOI) in 32 games for the Wild in the 2009-10 season. Earl was acquired from Toronto in exchange for left wing Ryan Hamilton on Jan. 21, 2009. Earl wears No. 38 with the Wild.

Almond, 21 (7/24/89), has skated in four games in two separate recalls with Minnesota, averaging 6:02 TOI. Almond has posted six points (2-4-6) and 32 penalty minutes (PIM) in 12 games for the Aeros this season. The 6-foot-2, 217-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, scored one goal in seven games for the Wild last season as a rookie. Almond was originally selected by Minnesota in the fifth round (No. 140 overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
