FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The TinCaps committed four errors in a 6-3 loss to the Great Lakes Loons, Friday at Parkview Field. Edinson Rincon cranked a two-run homer, but the Loons rallied to win.

The loss delayed the TinCaps' clinching a post-season berth as a Lansing loss slashed Fort Wayne's magic number to one. The TinCaps lost two of three in the series, their first series loss in August.

Fort Wayne got on the board in the bottom of the second. After Nate Freiman led off the inning with a double, Rincon slammed his home run to dead center field to make it 2-0.

The Loons equalized it on Angelo Songco's two-run blast in the top of the fifth.

The TinCaps bounced back in the bottom of the seventh. Jonathan Galvez led off with a triple, then Everett Williams lifted a sacrifice fly to left to put the TinCaps ahead again, 3-2.

In the eighth, Christian Lara walked and went to third on a hit-and-run single by Rafael Ynoa. Lara scored on a sacrifice fly to center. Ynoa stole second and went to third on a wild pitch, then Blake Smith reached on an RBI infield hit to give the Loons a 4-3 advantage.

Great Lakes took advantage of a Fort Wayne mistake in the ninth. J.T. Wise led off with a single. Jaime Ortiz hit a double-play grounder to second, but the feed throw was high and went into left field, allowing Wise to score and Ortiz to go to third. Brian Ruggiano singled to left to make it a 6-3 game.

Fort Wayne RHP Allen Marona (1-2) took the loss; Great Lakes RHP Jordan Roberts (5-4) picked up the victory after 2.2 innings in relief. Loons RHP Steve Ames notched his 14th save by retiring all four batters he faced.

Fort Wayne dipped to 37-23 in the half, 73-57 for the season. The Loons improved to 41-19 in the second half, 84-45 for the year.

The TinCaps open a four-game road series Saturday against the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Class-A Tampa Bay Rays) at 8:05 p.m. ET. Fort Wayne RHP Matt Lollis (4-1) takes the ball against Hot Rods LHP Kyle Lobstein (8-7).
