Memphis Redbirds News Release

MEMPHIS, TN - Memphis used another late rally to beat Oklahoma City and finish off a four-game sweep beating the RedHawks 5-2 Monday night at AutoZone Park.

After beating the Hawks with walk-off hits in two of the previous three games the Redbirds rallied in the eighth inning to win their fourth straight game. Mark Hamilton was again the hero, driving in two runs with a single to give the 'Birds their first lead of the night in the eighth. Hamilton's walk-off home run ended game one of Sunday's doubleheader. Ruben Gotay later scored on a balk to cap the three-run rally and set the final score. Gotay's two-run single tied the game in the third after three Memphis errors led to two RedHawks runs in the second inning. Nick Stavinoha went 1-for-3 with a double in his first rehab game with the Redbirds. Guilder Rodriguez and Hernan Iribarren each had two hits for the Hawks in the loss.

Evan MacLane earned the win with five scoreless innings of relief. The lefty scattered six hits and fanned four for his sixth win of the year. Warner Madrigal was pinned with the loss after giving up three runs and recording only one out. Mike MacDougal worked a 1-2-3 ninth inning for his first save with Memphis. Kyle Lohse tossed three innings in his first rehab outing giving up two runs, one earned, on two hits with three strikeouts. Rich Harden allowed two unearned runs on two hits with 10 strikeouts over six innings in his rehab start with Oklahoma City.

Memphis hits the road tomorrow night at New Orleans with first pitch scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Zephyr Field. P.J. Walters gets the ball for the 'Birds against Z's southpaw Sean West. The Redbirds return home on Saturday night to begin a four-game series with Omaha. For ticket information call 901.721.6000 or visit memphisredbirds.com.
