Worcester Sharks Release Schedule of Prey for 2010-11 Season

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President Michael Mudd announced today the schedule of opponents for the Sharks 5th season of hockey at the DCU Center in Worcester. In addition, the league's Board of Governors has approved the following conference and division alignment for the AHL's 75thseason (NHL affiliates in parentheses):

In the Atlantic Division, Worcester will play six home and six road games against Manchester, Portland, and Providence; four home and four road games against Bridgeport, Hartford, and Springfield. (60 total games within Atlantic Division)

Worcester will battle East Division opponents Albany, Charlotte, and Norfolk for four games each (two home, two away); and will face Adirondack, Hershey, and Wilkes-Barre Scranton two games each (one home, one away). This will mark the first time the Sharks face the Charlotte Checkers. (18 total games within East Division)

In addition, the Sharks will swim out to the Western Conference and face the Rochester Americans for the first time in franchise history (one home, one away). (two total games within North Division)

The complete schedule will be announced later this summer. In total, the Sharks will play 80 regular season games with 40 games on home-ice at the DCU Center and 40 games on the road.

Earlier, the Sharks announced dates of six guaranteed home games for the Sharks fifth season of hockey at the DCU Center including opening night:

* Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 - opening night at the DCU Center

* Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010

* Sunday, Jan. 9, 2010

* Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011

* Friday, Jan. 28, 2011

* Saturday, Jan. 29 2011
