Wolf Pack's Bobby Sanguinetti Earns AHL All-Star Classic Berth

December 30, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL) - Connecticut Whale News Release

HARTFORD, December 30, 2009: The American Hockey League announced today that Hartford Wolf Pack defenseman Bobby Sanguinetti has been named to the Planet USA All-Star Team for the 2010 Time Warner Cable AHL All-Star Classic.

This is the second time in Sanguinetti's two pro years that he has earned this honor. He took part in last year's AHL Skills Competition as a member of the Planet USA squad, but was unable to play in the All-Star Game due to injury.

Sanguinetti, a first-round selection (21st overall) by the parent New York Rangers in 2006, is currently tied for second among AHL defensemen in points, with six goals and 18 assists for 24 points in 29 games. His 18 assists rank him second on the Wolf Pack club in that department, and he stands third on the team in points. The 21-year-old Trenton, NJ native has also seen his first NHL action this season, skating in five games with Rangers (no points, four penalty minutes).

Last season, Sanguinetti led all Wolf Pack defensemen in goals and assists, and set a Wolf Pack single-season record for assists by a first-year blueliner, with 6-36-42 in 78 games.

Sanguinetti will be going up against Wolf Pack teammate Corey Locke in the 2010 Time Warner Cable AHL All-Star Classic, which takes place January 18 and 19 at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine. Locke was named yesterday to the Canadian All-Star Team.

The Wolf Pack are back in action tonight at the XL Center, hosting the Springfield Falcons in a 7:00 game. The Pack also play at home this Saturday night, January 2, a GEICO Connecticut Cup battle vs. the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (7:00), and this Sunday, January 3 at 3:00 against the Syracuse Crunch.

Single-game tickets for 2009-10 Hartford Wolf Pack regular season home games are on sale now at the XL Center box office, through Ticketmaster Charge-by-Phone at 1-800-745-3000 and on-line at www.hartfordwolfpack.com.
