Rampage Add Heshka And Pogge To Roster

November 25, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL) San Antonio Rampage

SAN ANTONIO (November 25, 2009) - San Antonio Rampage General Manager Brad Treliving announced today that the Phoenix Coyotes have re-assigned defenseman Shaun Heshka to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage. In addition, the Anaheim Ducks announced today that they have re-assigned goaltender Justin Pogge to the Rampage from the Bakersfield Condors (ECHL).

Heshka, 24, has appeared in eight games with the Coyotes this season and recorded two assists for his first career NHL points. He has also recorded four points (2 goals, 2 assists) and 18 penalty minutes in 13 games with San Antonio this season. In 2008-09, Heshka registered 26 points (3 goals, 23 assists) with 25 penalty minutes and a plus-17 rating in 77 games with Manitoba (AHL). The 6-foot-1, 208-pound Heshka has appeared in 224 career AHL games over four seasons with Manitoba and San Antonio, collecting 66 points (16 goals, 50 assists) with 118 penalty minutes and a plus-35 rating. Heshka was acquired by the Coyotes from Vancouver in exchange for a seventh round choice in the 2009 Entry Draft on June 27, 2009.

Pogge, 23, has appeared in nine games with Bakersfield (ECHL) this season boasting a 6-2-0 record with a.902 save percentage and 2.69 goals against average after facing 225 shots on goal and recording a shutout in Bakersfield's season opener. The Fort McMurray, Alberta native has played in 142 career AHL games with the Toronto Marlies (2006-09) posting a 71-56-11 record and a.899 save percentage and 2.71 goals against average on 3,746 shots faced. During the 2008-09 season, Pogge appeared in seven games for the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL) with a 1-4-1 record and.844 save percentage in 372 minutes played. Pogge was selected by Toronto in the third round (90th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft

The Rampage host the first of two Pucks and Paws nights this Saturday when they take on the Milwaukee Admirals at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center.
