Canadiens Recall David Desharnais From Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that forward David Desharnais has been recalled to Montreal from the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Desharnais, 23, returned to the Bulldogs' line-up on November 10th after missing 13 games due to a foot injury suffered during the pre-season. Since returning, the native of Quebec City, Quebec has recorded at least a point in all seven games he's played for a total of 10 points (four goals, six assists) as well as serving 10 penalty minutes. In 2008-2009, the 5-foot-7, 177-pound centre was tied for second on the 'Dogs and tied for third in rookie scoring in the AHL with 58 points (24 goals, 34 assists) in 77 games played. Desharnais signed with the Canadiens as a free agent on November 5, 2008.

The Bulldogs host the Houston Aeros tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Copps Coliseum. Fans can listen to every 'Dogs game on the flagship station of the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Network, TALK 820.
