Bulldogs face three-game week

The Hamilton Bulldogs (American Hockey League affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) will play three games this week. Starting with a hometown match-up, the 'Dogs will host the Manchester Monarchs (AHL Affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings) at Copps Coliseum on Wednesday November 19th. The Bulldogs will then hit the road for a game against the Peoria Rivermen (AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues) on Saturday November 22nd at the Peoria Civic Center, and will wrap up the week at Toyota Center to take on the Houston Aeros (AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild) on Sunday November 23rd.

Last week, Hamilton picked up two more wins in back-to-back home games against the Rochester Americans, and now have an overall record of 11-4-1-0. On Saturday November 15th the 'Dogs earned their first win of the weekend against the Amerks with a 4-3 victory at Copps Coliseum. On Sunday November 16th Hamilton hosted the Americans for the second time and recorded a 5-2 victory at Copps Coliseum.

- Bulldogs points leader RW Matt D'Agostini picked up three more goals this week, and is continuing a four-game goal streak that started on November 8th and has seen him record six goals

- RW Matt D'Agostini is currently third in league scoring with 19 points (12 goals, seven assists) in 16 games

- C Ryan Russell picked up the first hat trick of his professional career in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Rochester Americans

- C Yanick Lehoux is currently on a three-game point streak that started on November 8th and has seem him earn a total of seven points (one goal, six assists)

- Hamilton has already surpassed their total of six shorthanded goals last season after recording three shorthanded goals in Sunday's game to increase their total to seven on the season

- The 'Dogs notched a total of three shorthanded goals in Sunday's game, one shy of the league record of four shorthanded markers in a game

- LW Corey Locke is currently leading the Aeros with 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) in 13 games

-LW Corey Locke played on the Hamilton Bulldogs for three seasons from 2005-2008 and is the team's all-time leading scorer

ALUMNI WATCH:

There are over 60 former Bulldogs who have graduated to the National Hockey League. Over 60 percent of all former 'Dogs have played in at least one NHL game. Here are a few highlights and accomplishments of ex-'Dogs from this past week:

- Montreal G Carey Price earned two wins last week with a 4-0 shut out victory making all 28 saves against Ottawa (Nov. 11) and the second in a 3-2 shoot out win against St. Louis (Nov. 16)

- Montreal LW Christopher Higgins scored his first Hat Trick of the season in a 4-0 win over Ottawa (Nov. 11)

- Toronto C Mikhail Grabovski tallied two points this week, with an assist in a 4-3 loss against Calgary (Nov. 11) and a goal in a 5-2 win against Edmonton (Nov. 13)

- Columbus LW Jason Chimera recorded three assist this past week, earning one in a 5-2 loss to Phoenix (Nov. 12), and another two in a 6-1 victory over Buffalo (Nov. 14)

- Dallas C Mike Ribeiro tallied four points this past week with a goal in a 3-2 loss to Los Angeles (Nov. 13) and three assists in a 3-2 win against Phoenix (Nov. 15)

All regular-season radio and online broadcasts will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to each scheduled game-time. In addition Cable 14 will air live broadcasts 12 of club's 39 home games at Copps Coliseum as well as the Bulldogs' November 30th, 2008 home game at Bell Centre in Montreal. In a joint venture with Mohawk College, Cable 14 will also broadcast the 27 Hamilton Bulldogs' home games not being shown live in their entirety as 'Dogs-in-an-Hour at 11:00 p.m. on the night of the game.

Cable 14 will also carry Rogers Television's live coverage of five Hamilton Bulldogs versus Toronto Marlies games at Ricoh Coliseum.

BULLDOUGS FOUNDATION:

The Agree to Read program continued at Delta Public School on Tuesday, November 4th and Cathy Weaver School on Thursday, November 6th where forward Max Pacioretty and defenceman Yannick Weber visited with students to promote the program.

On Wednesday, November 5th, forwards Brock Trotter and Ryan White were on-hand to unveil the new team bus, which now features pictures of Bulldogs graduates on each side, and launch the Ambassador program at C.B. Stirling School.

Mathieu Aubin was named as the Community Player of the Month for October. Mathieu willingly dedicated his time to visit schools and sign autographs on behalf of the Bulldogs Foundation during October. The award is presented by Mountaineer Movers, agent for North American Van Lines and goes to the player who demonstrates professionalism as well as generosity towards fans throughout the community during that month.

The Bulldogs Foundation will host "Skate with the Bulldogs" on Sunday December 7. For a minimum of $125 in pledges, participants receive a complimentary ticket to the home game against the Toronto Marlies, a replica Bulldogs Jersey, a skating session with Bulldogs players, and access to the Bulldogs fun zone.

Funds raised will provide developmental programs along with equipment and fees to minor hockey league players who cannot otherwise afford to play the game. Proceeds will also go to the local CNIB in Hamilton, so they can provide vital services and programs for people with vision loss.
